Florence, Italy

Entering central Florence, walking through the cobbled streets, looking up at all of the magnificent architecture, I’m taken back in time.  As I’m walking I’m wondering what it would have been like wandering these streets in the late 14th Century and casually passing Donatello or Michelangelo in the street.  ‘Heeeyyyy D, what up?!’   Ok […]

Lake Como, Italy

I’m finally getting a chance to go through and edit some images I took while away in Italy last September/October.  Like every trip I take I always have my 35mm film camera (Pentax Spotmatic SP 1000) with me and a digital camera – this time I brought a small option with me – Canon 550D […]

Venice on film – Part II

Venice is a colourful city, but so much of its charm and essence can be beautifully captured in black and white. From the people endlessly roaming the streets, to the workers and the stunning architecture, this city has an old world charm that cries out for a medium which can capture its rawness, history and beauty…

Venice on film – Part I

I have recently returned from Europe where my husband and I toured around Northern Italy before heading north to Estonia to see my family.   We got to spend two days in Venice, and it definitely lived up to the hype.  It is an extraordinarily vibrant and beautiful city. How I got that shot – Kombi at night

I have only very recently come back from 3 weeks in Tasmania with Hubby and Etta, my beautiful 1975 Volkswagen Microbus. Soooo many images to edit!   We were traveling around Tassie and I also photographed my friend’s wedding in Hobart where Etta was the wedding car – needless to say it was a great […]

South Coast Kombi road trip – Honeymoon Bay

The last stop on our micro adventure was Honeymoon Bay in Currarong, Jervis Bay. This is a magical spot hidden away from the crowds. We camped two nights and had the best weather! Our camp spot was well shaded and private which meant we could hang the camp shower in the bush! Nothing beats a […]

South Coast Kombi road trip – Jervis Bay

The second stop on our micro adventure was Jervis Bay. We started the day in Coledale and after a short stop in Figtree to get a foam topper for the rock n roll bed and a 25L water jug we headed straight to Hyams Beach – considered to have the whitest sand in the world! […]

South Coast Kombi road trip – Coledale

Last week hubby and I set off on our first camping trip in our 1975 VW Microbus, Etta. Our first stop was Coledale for the night. Coledale is South of Sydney on the coast road leading from the Royal National Park to Wollongong.
