Call for Volunteers

Hello everyone! I am currently looking for Volunteers for my current work titled ‘Compassion Fatigue.’

The work is a multimedia piece consisting of video and still photographs. ‘Compassion Fatigue’ explores how individuals react to disturbing imagery shown to them on a loop for 18 minutes. It records how their reactions change from the first minute to the last. It explores what our coping mechanisms are, how and when we ‘switch off’, how different people react to the same content, and how the repetitive media cycle fatigues us by overexposing us to this type of horrific imagery over and over again.

The work is supported by the National Association of the Visual Arts through the New South Wales Artists Grant Program and will be present as an exhibition in December 2012.

If you would like to be apart of this project and are willing to give up half an hour of your time, please contact Me, Meredith Schofield at meredith@meredithschofield.com or on 0404 799 019 with the times you are available.

Here are the available time slots:

Tuesday 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of August: 5pm – 8:30pm
Thursday 16th, 23rd, 30th of August: 5pm – 8:30pm
Friday 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st of August: 5pm – 8:30pm
Saturday 18th of August: 1pm – 6pm
Sunday 19th of August: 9am – 6pm

The work will be shot at my Studio at 143 Beattie Street Balmain (across from the Orange Peel Cafe.)

Please contact me with your availability and I will allocate you a time to come into the studio.

I really believe in this project and know it will open peoples minds and encourage people to look a little deeper into themselves and our society.

Please spread the word!
