On the odd occasion I get asked if I can photograph a wedding – this usually comes from couples who want a reportage/documentary feeling to their wedding record – an accurate representation of the day without too much posing and fluff. And I often know the couple! Couples I work with are always a little different to the regular, very much more laid back, unconventional style wedding and they allow me to photograph exactly how I want, creating a visual story and tapestry of the days events. It’s not high end glamour, it’s not corny posed – it’s real, it’s natural and its captures them,  the real them, not a manufactured story that it pushed by a photographer or wedding planner. I was so excited to shoot Rachel and Phil’s wedding as Rachel and I have known each other for over 15 years, going to school together in Canberra, which was the location of this beautiful, classic and elegant day.
