Over the weekend I was honored to photograph the Eastern Region Local Government Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Forum’s (ERLGATSIF) 50th anniversary celebration of the 1967 Referendum and the 25th anniversary of the 1992 Mabo Decision. It was a day of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, ceremony and an earth oven in the sand that made for some truly delicious tucker.

The celebrations were held at Bondi Beach – originally called Boondi, which means ‘the noise made by sea waves’ and most likely originated from the Dharug Language group.
